Types of Paintball Games

Is it safe?

Paintball players wear protective masks that shield face and both sides of their heads. During the game you have to obey safety rules, for example, never: take off your mask on the battle field, shoot from the distance less than 10 meters or point in the head of your opponent. It is worth to remember that your opponent is not your enemy but a friend from the opposite team. But the most important thing is a fair play rule, which, being observed makes the game more satisfying and pleasant.

Types of paintball games

There are many different game variations. In outdoor games the number of players on each team varies from 5 to even 500 people, the limit is only the size of the playing field. Indoor arenas generally have two teams of 10 to 20 each side. Outdoor games can last for hours, while indoor games range from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the scenario. Between games players take a break to check their equipment, reload paintballs and refresh themselves while recounting the thrills of victory and the agonies of defeat. Win or lose, everyone has a great time.

Basic paintball scenarios

There are many different paintball scenarios. Below I present only the basic ones, which can be often mixed in order to make normal games a little bit more interesting.

Capture the Flag - Two or more teams strive to capture each others flags.
This scenario lasts an average of 20 minutes, but if there are many players it can take any amount of time. The players are divided into at least two teams, however, the more teams the more interesting game. Each team has its own flag and team members are marked with ex. arm bands in order to distinguish themselves from the enemy. Each flag is taken to the place where it can be clearly visible. The objective of the game is to take the flag from the designated flag station. The flag must then be 'hung' at one's own flag station or the enemy flag station, respectively. Before the game the time limit should be set, or else you could go on and on.

Team Elimination - Two or more teams fight to be the only ones left alive.
It is a very simple scenario. The players are divided into two or more teams, the more teams the better. Team members are marked with ex. arm bands in order to distinguish themselves from the enemy. Once the teams are set they enter the field and attack each other. Everyone who has been shot leaves the battlefield. As usual there must be a time limit, and if it runs out, the team with more members left alive wins the game.

Medic - Two or more teams fight against each other, with a medic who revives the eliminated players.
To play this scenario you need two or more teams. Each team selects one player to be a medic. Medics, who must be marked somehow to distinguish them from other players, can revive the eliminated players. Once a player is shot he must communicate with the medic, who comes and revives him. The eliminated players can not talk to other players left alive, they are only allowed to yell out for a medic. The medic must be shot twice to be eliminated. The goal of the game is to eliminate the medic and then the whole opposite team.

Attack and Defense – One team is on the attack, second one on the defense.
Attack and defense is another very simple but at the same time a very fun scenario. There are two teams on the battlefield. The first one starts and chooses an area to defend. The other team waits for a signal and then goes and attacks the defenders. The goal of the game is to conquer the area, or to defend it from hostiles. The time limit is set before the game and the odds should be slightly in favor of the attackers. The defenders may have more players but the attackers may have a medic, or regeneration.

Fox and Hounds - Several good players are hunted by the rest.
Fox and hound is a unique scenario. There are two teams, but one of the teams consists of few top players, who are the “foxes”. These players are given a brief head start. Then the second team – the “hounds” – starts haunting the foxes. The goal of foxes is to survive a time limit, while the hounds aim to eliminate them.
